After the tributes are selected, they are taken to the Justice building by the Peacekeepers. There they are each given their own fancy room to say their goodbyes; knowing they might not see them again. Katniss says goodbye to Prim, her mother Gale, Peeta's father, and the mayor's daughter, Madge. Madge gives Katniss her mockingjay pin.
